Dear Members and Friends of DEMHIST,
As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread around the globe, personal and professional lives everywhere have been impacted drastically. The situation changes daily, and differs from country to country. Based on these uncertainties we need to adjust DEMHIST plans and activities for the foreseeable future.
The 2020 DEMHIST conference is being planned for October 5 – 9 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. It had been our intention to post the conference schedule and open registration in early April. However, the DEMHIST board and organizers of the conference have decided to postpone this. We will carefully follow developments, both in the Netherlands and elsewhere, and on April 30 or shortly thereafter, share an update. We have, therefore, also extended the deadline for the call for papers, and a new date will be announced once a decision has been made about the conference. You will soon be able to see the conference’s program online, but it is entirely subject to change.
The deadline to apply for the Funding Opportunity for DEMHIST National Groups or local activities, originally set for March 31, has been postponed. We have already received some proposals, and we will hold on to them. If you want to submit a proposal, we will hold on to those as well. However, considering the current situation, we will not know what kind of activities are going to be possible this year. For this funding opportunity we will also provide an update on or shortly after April 30.
